The spirit of fellowship.

Spirit!

October! Wow, I love fall. I love October. I’ve mentioned to folks in conversations recently that the cooler weather makes me feel a little more like myself. I’m sure I’m meant for cooler weather, burly landscapes, and lots of comfy layers. My dogs feel the same way.

We’re finishing up our busy summer season here at the shop and it’s been a great one! This was our third summer being open here on Sheridan Street and, honestly, we had a great time. What a joy to keep leaning into the shop, the people, the art, the craft and allowing it all some space and grace to come into its own, get its feet under itself, feel some air underneath its wings, to establish its spirit. All of those things are happening. The Meadows has changed and it is also very much itself.

Fostering a space and energy for these things to happen requires humans who are fostering that type of energy for themselves. The Meadows is so lucky to have a team of folks who are so lovely, creative, thoughtful, and open to the evolution and growth that is taking place here. We’ve got Janey Dahlgren, Hayley Reed, & Jane Dandron-Holtz all leaning in and supporting the shop in all of the ways. All three of them are artists and creators in their own way - print making, sewing, weaving, silver smithing, and more - and they bring their creative flow into the Meadows daily function with ease. You can check out their Artist Bios here. [Link]

This summer I have gotten to witness how a team full of creativity and spirit can impact a situation. The Meadows is healthy and is absolutely ready to keep growing - and this is all due to the spirit of The Meadows Team!

Thanks to Janey, Hayley, and Jane for all of the time and creativity they’ve invested.

And thanks to all of our artists and craftspeople who continue to bring the magic with all they create.

And thanks to all of our customers, new and returning, who step through the door and soak it all up. We couldn’t do it without you!

Enjoy October!
